We are training our next mobile technician. The 6-12 month apprenticeship covers residential rekeying, deadbolt installation, smart-lock setup, commercial cylinder work, master-key pinning, automotive lockout techniques, transponder programming, and safe manipulation. You will work alongside Owner Omer on real dispatches across Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. After completion, you graduate to mobile technician with a marked van and your own dispatch territory.

Requirements

  • Valid Colorado driver's license + clean driving record (we pull MVR before offer)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs (lock cylinders, safe components, tool kits)
  • Mechanical aptitude — comfortable with small parts, pin tumblers, hand tools
  • Clean background check (we conduct annually — non-negotiable for entering customer homes)
  • Strong customer service — you'll be face-to-face with stressed people at 2am
  • Comfortable working independently 80% of the time after month 4
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends on rotation (1 weekend in 4)

Compensation & Benefits

We are expanding from 3 mobile vans to 5 over the next 18 months. This role is for an experienced locksmith (minimum 2 years field experience) ready to own a territory. You will handle 6-12 dispatches per day — mix of residential, commercial, automotive, and after-hours emergencies. We provide the van, the leads (we don't buy leads — they come from our 381 Google reviews and SEO), and the training on equipment you may not have used (Autel IM608, JLR Pathfinder, manipulation tools for safes).

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years field locksmith experience (residential + automotive)
  • Familiarity with at least one of: Autel IM608, Topdon ArtKey, JLR Pathfinder
  • Valid Colorado driver's license + clean MVR
  • Clean background check (annual)
  • Comfortable with on-call rotation (1 week in 4)

📋 Hiring Process

What to Expect After You Apply

  1. Email Response (48 hours): Owner Omer reads every application. You'll hear back within 2 business days, even if it's a "no, but here's why" reply.
  2. Phone Screen (30 min): Initial call with Omer. We talk about your background, your interest, and what we're like to work with. No tricks, no whiteboard interview.
  3. In-Person Trial (half day): Ride along with a current technician on dispatches. You see the work. We see how you talk to customers. Paid: $80 for the half day regardless of hire outcome.
  4. Background Check + MVR: Third-party background check + driving record. Standard 5-7 days.
  5. Offer + Start Date: Written offer letter with salary, benefits, start date, and training schedule. Typical start: 2-3 weeks after offer acceptance.
